Question Opinions.

I'm going for a D/Mo build; mainly because of its variety in various circumstances and its excellent ratings by the general public.

Any opinions? ;3

My opinion? I hate dervs. lol...You are right though, Dervs are givin a high rating from the public, thats because they are overpowered. Of course they are DEFINITELY beatable, but yes, I believe over powered. haha...

Anyways about your D/Mo Idea? Go for it, but if youre a true GW play, your secondary will change if you are creative enough to do something else...Which isnt tough...But dont use PvX! be cool and make your own stuff!

Here's some D/Mo builds for general PvE. Go crazy.

[build prof=D/Mo myst=12+1+1 scythe=12+1 prot=3][Avatar of Melandru][Victorious Sweep][Wearying Strike][Zealous Renewal][Heart of Fury][Draw Conditions][Imbue Health][Resurrection Signet][/build]

[build prof=dervi/monk scythe=12+1+1 mystic=9+1 earthp=9+1 protec=3][wounding strike][mystic sweep][eremite's attack][Victorious Sweep][Conviction][zealous renewal][mending touch][resurrection signet][/build]

[Sunspear Rebirth Signet] > [Resurrection Signet]
But since you got monk as secondary a hard rezz should be used and no signet at all ...

PvE without [[Aura of holy might] is also not the best idea. Avatar without [[Eternal Aura] isn't that good either ...

In short: Don't use these builds in PvE

[avatar of lyssa][aura of holy might][whirlwind attack][flail][chilling victory][eremite's attack][eternal aura][sunspear rebirth signet]

what i use on my derv in pve. always worked for me... really i can't think of any monk skills that would be very useful in pve.

I don't see the point of having monk as secondary, they don't have anything you can really use IMO.
There are monks heroes and henches to support the party, your role is to kick asses.

To be honest I don't think the secondary profession matters, the build I run only has dervish skills. If you really want something different, go /W and take Wild Blow, it might be helpful against rangers and warriors.

Like MegaVolti said, don't forget to bring AoHM and Eternal Aura.

You mean post number 4, right?

[Asuran Scan] is interesting on dervs too.

did you want some sort of help? you know you could have asked for that. you asked for opinions, I gave you one. I'm pretty sure I answered the OP way better than those "helpful" people. If you have questions, ask them.

People like this most honorable one are the ones that give the impression that every post on guru is only slightly less ass like than those of the /b/tards on 4chan.
If you MUST use monk skills, use the one with Avatar of Melandru and Draw Conditions, probably kick out a skill to stick in Eternal Aura so you can maintain it. Also grab rebirth and replace rez sig.

Eh... I would go with just a Derv Pure, just put attributes in Mysticism, Scythe Mastery, and Earth Prayers.

This way you can use the Avatars, Various Scythe Sweeps, and the strong Earth Prayers along with Mystic Regeneration (which is a powerful healing spell on its own). This way there is really no way to do a second Profession... Oh and Eternal Aura is a must since it recharges your Avatar Spell which is your main point of attack and buffs.

If anyone is causing enough damage that can kill you, will mystic regeneration save you on its own?

Chances are it wont.

So replace it with something that actually accomplishes a useful purpose.

What's "Portal" ? :/

I just thought about something ! If you are looking for a dervish healer build, you might want to try Avatar of Lyssa for 20 extra energy and Eternal Aura for a permanent avatar. Otherwise, Pious Renewal (E) and Signet of Pious Light can be used to spam heals, but then you'd have to put some points in Earth Prayers.

Portal is A GREAT PC GAME (albeit short). Snow Bunny currrent avatar (he/she changed - so I assume he/she was sucked into it ) is the Portal game logo. You can find it in the half life 2 orange box or can be bought stand alone I believe.

extra energy is not energy managment. the energy cap from lyssa only helps you cast things "dervish style" (casting a few enchantments then rushing into a fight), it does not help you sustain spell casting. if you want to try some sort of dervish caster [pious renewal] might work but i would stick with [arcane zeal]

Well, I just thought that Avatar of Lyssa combined with high Mysticism would help with energy.
I never got to try it though, so I wouldn't know for sure.

Pious Renewal is not for energy management, I used to put it on my bar along with Signet of Pious Light in Alliance Battles for a cheap heal. There is a very good build using this combo, you can find it on Youtube iirc.
